Muốn giữ koi cho thật tốt và phát triển chiều dài tối đa, các bạn cần thiết kế cho mình 1 hồ koi ưu điểm nhất.

3- Lòng hồ koi phải lõm xuống như lòng chảo khoảng 30 độ, nếu hồ koi dài lớn bạn làm thêm bottom drain (ống thoát) đường kính ống thoát còn tùy vào lượng nước và công suất của Bơm. Nếu đường thoát hồ koi quá lớn so với công suất Bơm, thì lưu lượng nước chảy chậm làm cho phân koi và cặn bã dơ lắng đọng lại trong ống thoát theo thời gian, cho nên hồ koi lớn có nhiều ống thoát, mỗi ống thoát là một ống thoát riêng không nối lại với nhau, từ đó khi chúng ta làm vệ sinh từng đường ống sẽ sạch hơn. Nếu ống thoát nhỏ quá so với công xuất của Bơm thì lượng nước đi qua hồ tĩnh và filter không kịp làm cho mực nước cao thấp rất nhiều, và làm cho Bơm bị hụt nước

4- Nếu tiện bạn có thể lấy thác nước làm thêm filter.

Đối với hồ koi nhỏ các bạn cần làm vì koi sống nơi chật hẹp và phải ăn nhiều cho mau lớn nên cần tạo ra dòng chảy mạnh, thứ nhất koi không có bụng to thứ hai vào nhiệt độ từ 19==> 27 độ c, cho koi exercise (thể dục) như vậy koi mới ăn được nhiều mau tiêu và mau lớn. Nếu nhiệt độ giảm xuống dưới 14 độ c==> 5 độ c, các bạn đều chỉnh trái và phải đều nhau. Lúc đó 8 jets chạy để bảo hòa lưu lượng nước và đường jets chậm lại. Tùy các bạn đều chỉnh…vì lúc này rất lạnh koi cần tịnh dưỡng, nghỉ ngơi trong mùa đông ( không còn cho koi ăn )

Lưu ý : Trong khi nhiệt độ 16==>28 độ c các bạn cho jets chạy 1 chiều phải hoặc trái, tại sao có jets trái và phải vì cho jets chạy một chiều phải, lâu ngày koi bơi một chiều thành một thói quen, làm cho body koi bị cong một chiều,nên các bạn đổi chiều trái. Thỉnh thoảng các bạn để ý và đổi chiều. ( các bạn dùng valve 3 chiều nếu có ? nếu không có loại khóa nầy bạn có thể dùng khóa chiếc để làm)

6- Nếu có đều kiện bạn có thể cho đường AIR đi vào giữa Bottom Drain, như vậy nhờ lượng hơi đẩy từ giữa lổ thoát 10” tạo ra luồng nước hút vào giữa lỗ thoát phân koi vào dễ dàng hơn ( thẩm mỹ hơn không thấy dây AIR )

7- Nên gắn Skimmer ( hút mặt ), nếu hồ dài hoặc lớn thì phải có 2 Skimmers. Không nên gắn gần thác nước vì thác nước hoạt động sẽ tạo ra luồng gió đẩy tất cả rác rưởi và bọt bèo đi ra xa, nên cần tìm vị trí thuận lợi.
